Introduction

Nursing SCRIPT is an eLearning programme, which aims to improve education around medicines management and optimisation. It is aimed at both qualified NHS nurses and midwives, and student nurses.

The resource was commissioned by the West Midlands Academic Health Science Network and developed by the University of Birmingham and OCB Media Ltd, in collaboration with Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Partnership Trust, and in association with Health Education England. The learning is aligned to NMC Standards for Medicines Management and Standards for Pre-registration Nursing Education.

Nursing SCRIPT contains 18 modules covering the principles of medicines management, managing risks related to medication use, and therapeutic topics such as anticoagulation, infection, and pain management. Each module takes around 30 – 60 minutes to complete. All course materials have been authored by a team of expert healthcare professionals, and are regularly reviewed and updated.
